Full image caption

Three doorways, 1886. Left to right, the doorways were located at 26, Queen Square, 9 Grosvenor Road and 17 Delahay Street, all in Westminster. This photograph was commissioned by the Society for Photographing Relics of Old London to form part of a permanent visual record of historic buildings threatened with alteration or possible demolition in the 1870s and 80s. None of these doorways now survive, and indeed both Queen Square and Delahay Street have disappeared altogether.
