Roman cremation urn. Large round-bodied jar, or face pot, in Verulamium Region Coarse White-slipped ware. This urn was found complete but with its handles missing. The jar would originally have had three handles. There are concentric grooves around the body with a human face applied above. The nose is missing but the eyes and eyebrows are clearly defined. The jar contained cremated bones. It was found between Barnard's Inn, Fetter Lane and Norwich Street, City of London
