One of three fragments of a large ovoid colour-coated beaker with slight rim, in dark grey slip, possibly made in Colchester or east Gaul. A decorative scene consists of moulded figures with details added in barbotine and depicts gladiatorial combat. One figure is dressed as a murmillo or thraex, wearing a loincloth, a guard for the sword arm and a high helmet. He is fighting another figure with similar guard for the sword arm but the arm is all that survives on this fragment.
