This image shows the entrance of a dry dock under construction at King George V Dock.
As the third of the Royal docks, King George V Dock was built to enhance and extend the trade that was passing though the Royal Victoria and Albert Docks.
The King George V was the last of London's upstream enclosed docks to be built and construction was completed in 1921.
