Plaster of Paris (calcium sulphate) 'erotic' relief tile. Sooting on reverse. The tile depicts a man and woman having sex. The man is standing behind the woman and she is bent over, holding a cushion. The man's trousers are round his knees and he is wearing a wig with a small ponytail. Blunt-toed shoes imply the scene is after 1740. Complete; somewhat scratched. From a fireplace on the upper storey of Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, 145 Fleet Street EC4.
