A gold and enamel mourning finger ring. The oval glass covered bezel is painted with the image of a man and woman grieving by an urn set on a plinth. It is edged with a white enamel border bearing the inscription 'SACRED.TO.THE.MEMORY.OF.5.CHILDREN'. The shoulders of the shank are decorated with stripes of black and white enamel. The reverse of the bezel is engraved, 'Andw. Archibald James & Andw Simpson'.
