Elizabeth Brownrigg, died in 1767. She was a midwife who murdered her apprentice. As a consequence she was hanged at Tyburn. Brownrigg is shown here while she was still in prison. She is depicted in this etching with her hands clasped in prayer and wearing a wide-brim hat.
