Full image caption

The Palace of Whitehall. Engraving. From a drawing by Hollar in the 1620s, this is an illustration, 'plate 111', for an antiquarian work. It has a descriptive caption and shows the Banquetting Hall on the left, the Holbein Gate on the right, a four-bay building linking the two and a wall on the right along what would now be the north side of Whitehall beyond which the land which is now the location now for Horse Guards - is evidently lower.
