Full image caption

Goblet made in Alsatian Blue glass with a flared bucket bowl and conical foot diamond-moulded. Probably designed by Harry Powell in c.1903-14 and produced until at least 1926. Handwritten label on the glass bowl reads: "Soda glass containing MgO [magnesium oxide] coloured with iron scales". Although Alsatian Blue soda glass was made as early as 1888, this piece appears to be of a later design. One of the experimental Whitefriars' pieces.
