Aldermaston Anti-nuclear protest march. These protestors are on the return march on route to London, having previously marched from London to Aldermaston, for the third year running. Canon John Collins, one of the leading CND campaigners, is in black clerical garb in the front rank; behind him is the Labour politician Michael Foot. The protest, supported by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (C.N.D.), had been to the nuclear base at Aldermaston in Berkshire to call for an end to the use and testing of nuclear weapons. The march took place at Easter every year, from 1958 to 1963.
