Single one piece gauntlet glove of soft yellowish-brown kid or lamb skin dressed flesh-side out. Cut with slight flare in the lower section of its outer edge which is left open to provide the depth of the gauntlet. The gauntlets are backed with linen and lined with deep pink silk which is turned to front to bind lower the edge. Side slits and lower edge trimmed with short fringe of silver-gilt thread bound with pink and cream silk thread. The gauntlet is embroidered with silver-gilt thread, purl and pieces of card wrapped with fine silver-gilt wire in laid and couched work. Narrow border outlining side slits and lower edge decorated with rather angular S-shapes linked by Cs and decorated with leaves and buds. The centre of the gauntlet is filled with strap-work compartments containing stylised floral sprigs and linked by leafy coils.
