Doll representing a London Cry or a female pedlar. With head of painted and stuffed leather and bead eyes. Stuffed arms and body with legs of wood. The pedlar is dressed in clothes of cotton with a red wool cape which is associated with Country-women. She is also wearing a silk bonnet and is carrying a large basket of plaited cotton cord for the display of her wares. The basket includes metal kitchen utensils, net bags, cotton cords, imitation books, silk balls. In her left hand she carries a candlestick and in her right hand a lantern and bellows of paper and glass. The doll is attached to a wooden plinth covered with marbled paper and is stored under a glass dome and circular dome base.
