The Prospect of Bridewell.
Bridewell Prison and Hospital was established in a former royal palace in 1553 with two purposes: the punishment of the disorderly poor and housing of homeless children in the City of London. This imag shows a view of the Prospect of Bridewell from above, showing two courtyards with figures. Writting Underneath reads: 'Published According to an act of Parliament 1755 fro Stow's Survey.'
