Two political association membership cards. The upper card or 'Member's ticket' was issued by the Metropolitan Anti-Corn Law Association. The Members name "R.T. Johnson and No. 736" have been added by hand. It is signed by the Association Secretary, Sidney Smith and is dated 1841, with the red wax seal of the Association. The card has an embossed border decorated with a row of daisies and is also embossed by "Whiting patentee". The lower card is a ticket of membership for the National Political Union, dated May 1st, 1832. The card ticket is issued to Peter Birchall. Printed on the card is the slogan 'Union is Power'.
