Production floor of the United Biscuits Ltd factory, Isleworth. An employee crosses the production floor of the United Biscuits Limited factory, Syon Lane, Isleworth. Staff at the factory included immigrant workers from Asia and the Caribbean. Many had come to London in the post-war years and filled the low skilled jobs left vacant by the labour shortage. United Biscuits formed in 1948 and, by 1972, had acquired various other businesses including Kenyon Son & Craven nut producers and the United States firm Keebler Company. Henry Grant photographed staff at the factory at different stages in the biscuit production.
