Pearly King and Queens drinking a cup of tea at the annual traditional Costermongers Harvest Festival Service. The Service was held every year at the 'Costers Cathedral' the Church of St Mary Magdalene's Church, Old Kent Road and was officially a celebration for all licensed Victuallers and traders. Pearly Kings and Queens from all the various Boroughs of London still come together now to celebrate at this service. Pearly Kings and Queens wear black suits distinctively decorated with hundreds of white pearl buttons. The hats worn by the Queens were adorned with Ostrich feathers.
