This letter was written by the Managing Director of the Electrophone company, HSJ Booth, to the Secretary of the Reform Club of Pall Mall, Lieutenant-Colonel Newbigging. The letter explains that the company can no longer provide the Electrophone service free of charge and proposes an annual rental charge of £3. The Electrophone allowed people to listen to church services and musical and theatrical performances live from their homes or at social venues.
