Full image caption

A cape made of a Liberty fabric, possibly intended for upholstery, woven with a pattern of cream and pink lilies on a green ground. The yoke, and a border edging the collar are embroidered in silk on green velvet with a similar pattern in similar colours; the cape is lined with gold coloured silk. The collar is gathered, and shaped to echo the wing-shaped outline of the yoke; the cape could have been worn with the collar up, to frame the face, or turned down. There is a hanging loop at the inside CB neck and a self pocket and straps for the wearer's arms to pass through have been stitched to the lining. A label at the CB neck, embroidered in gold script, reads, 'Liberty & Co'.
