The Royal Botanical Gardens Kew. The iconic glass Palm House can be seen in the background. Designed by Decimus Burton and engineered by Richard Turner to house the exotic palms being collected by the Victorians it was built between 1844 and 1848. It was a pioneering project being the first time that wrought iron had been used to create such large spaces without supporting columns.
