The Christmas lights in Regents Street in the form of angels with trumpets, December 1960. Electric lights were first lit ito decorate the street in December 1948 and they have been a tradition in London ever since with hundreds of people attending the 'switching' on ceremony. Regents Street is the main shopping venue in London and visiting the lights after a day of shopping is a much loved Christmas ritual.
