Little girl running through the water fountains in the Festival Gardens. These Gardens are part of the very large Battersea Park which opened to the public in 1858. In 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain celebrations a part of the park was refurbished and the Festival’s ‘Pleasure Gardens’ were created. The gardens included fountains, a water garden, a tree walk with raised wooden walkways, a boating pond and sculptures. Thousands of visitors enjoyed visiting the Festival Gardens.
