Large thrown Staffordshire slipware charger with a creamy, yellow ground overlaid with trailed brown slip. The vessel is decorated on the flange with cross-hatching and the inscription WILLIAM WRIGHT 1709. The centre of the dish depicts Queen Anne crowned, with arms raised aloft holding a tulip and thistle flanked by decorative sprigs, rosettes and the initials Q and A.
