A Hansom cab. This type of vehicle was patented in 1834 by English architect Joseph Hansom and became popular as a public cab. The Hansom cab is characterised by being a low, two-wheeled horse-drawn vehicle with a covered carriage and the driver's seat elevated and in the rear of the vehicle.
