A woman's riding habit consisting of a bodice and apron skirt. This dress is made of cotton and linen and silk. The bodice and sleeves are fully lined with plain-weave linen with seams neatened on the inside. The front of the bodice is trimmed with graduated lengths of ivory ribbed silk braid applied horizonatally, with a silk covered wooden button stitched at the end of each length. The sleeves are cut very full with cartridge pleating at the heading. The skirt front has no visible fastening, but may originally have tied round the waist.
