Image of a gingerbread seller outside the Pantheon. Originally published as a series of 31 prints with drawings by W.M. Craig and engraved by Edwards. These oblong flat cakes were sold for a halfpenny in winter. In summer the trader depicted in this plate would sell Banbury and other cakes from the same location.
