This is a photograph of the 19th-century tea clipper, Cutty Sark, at Greenwich in South East London.

Designed by Hercules Linton, the ship was built in 1869 and embarked on its maiden voyage the following year. Over 200 feet-long, Cutty Sark was used in the trading of tea and made several trips to China. During the Second World War, the ship was used for training and it was later moored at the Festival of Britain.

In 2007 a fire broke out on the ship, while it was under-going conservation work. A popular London tourist attraction, the Grade I listed vessel is currently being repaired.
