A Grenadier mitre cap. This shape of cap was introduced in the early 18th century, it consisted of a stiffened bag, usually of red cloth. The front as well as the turn-ups at back and front were of the regimental facing colour. The front was embroidered with devices from the coat of arms of the colonel of the regiment.

This cap predates the warrant and has been embroidered with the white horse of the House of Hanover below a coat of arms and coronet.
