Selection of puppets from the Punch and Judy show. From left to right: hand puppet representing the Parson or Methodist. This puppet has a wooden head with carved head and hands, and painted facial features. The face has an expression of surprise or exasperation with the eyes carved to look heavenwards. The puppeteer's hand would be inserted inside the wool clothing; beadle puppet; glove puppet with wooden head; wooden drumsticks or gallows; Punch puppet; glove puppet with wooden head and large drum, made of painted wood and leather strap.
