Double key with case. Walnut wood box containing Henrietta Howard's pass key for Kensington Palace. The paper label on the inside of the lid inscribed 'Engraved key/"Rt. Honble.. Countess of Suffolk". A cutting stuck to the inside of the lid refers to Thackeray's lecture on George II which mentions the king's relationship with Henrietta Howard, Countess of Suffolk. The box is lined with a stained red fabric which has a paper label stuck to it inscribed 'Pass key of Kensington Palace'. A printed label on the base of the case reading 'ART TREASURES/EXHIBITION/MUSEUM OF ART', is inscribed with an illegible signature.
