'Very slippy weather' by caricaturist James Gilray. Hand-coloured etching. This print depicts a scene outside Gilray's publisher's premises . An elderly man slips on the pavement outside Humphrey's print shop in St. James's Street. Passers-by have stopped to look at the prints displayed in the window. The hat & wig of the fallen man fly off, but he keeps a firm grasp on a large thermometer. The shop window displays a number of Gilray's previously published prints.
