Stone pestle of coarse ashy (volcanic) grit, probably derived from near Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire. Surface mainly rough with some limey encrustation (Thames race). Wide end and butt rounded. Profile bowed longitudinally. Found in the Thames at Wandsworth.
