Roman glass unguentarium or phial. Made of natural blue colour of good quality glass. Found complete with rim, neck, body, and base. This phial has an everted rim, lightly ground to a chamfer. However, the rim is rather irregular, with a chip at one point, possibly resulting from an imperfection in the glass, and the grinding may be a re-working of a rim that was originally fire-rounded. It has slight tool marks, but no real constriction, at the base of its neck. The phial has a flat base, slightly kicked, with pontil scar.
