image details

Full image caption
Reverse of a struck bronze coin of the British ruler Cunobelin (AD 10-41/2). The reverse has the name TASCIIOVANII (Tasciovanus) above a sow standing right upon an ornamental exergual line with the letter F below. Tasciovanus was a British ruler who reigned before Cunobelin. This coin perhaps demonstrates that Cunolelin was a relation of Tasciovanus, the F on the coin possibly standing for the latin 'Filius' ('son of'). Two milimeters are missing from the top of the coin.
