Reverse of a pilgrim badge. This badge has a circular flan, stamped with the vernicle and the inscription 'salve sante facies nostris redeptori'. Londoners wore badges, some of made of peweter others of brass, that show the saints they especially revered. This badge, also called a 'venicle', shows the face of Christ impressed on St. Veronica's handkerchief.
