Restored pottery jar with fingertip decoration. This jar was found during archaeological excavations of a settlement at 'Caesar's Camp', Heathrow in 1994. The name Ceasar's camp is an 18th century invention. Early maps refer to it as Shasbury Hill, which may derive from the old English 'Sceaceres Byrig' - Robber's Fort. The Ceasar's enclosure was found to contain eleven roundhouses and a rectangular shrine or temple. This jar is one of a group of objects found there.
