Shield-shaped pilgrim badge. It has an openwork design depicting the crucifixion and instruments of Christ's passion. It was found at Brook's Wharf, City of London. The instruments of the Passion were also popular as devotional woodcuts. These were sometimes disposed around the an image of Christ of Pity, a half-length figure of Christ standing in a sepulchre at the foot of the cross.
