Full image caption

Pewter badge of King Henry VI. This badge depicts Henry VI, the last monarch of the Lancastrian dynasty, who was murdered in the Tower of London in 1471. He is shown in robes of state holding an orb in his right hand and a sceptre, originally combining a fleur-de-lis and cross, in his left. A heraldic antelope with forked tail and serrated horns, the king's personal badge, lies at his feet.
