Roman Samian bowl. Decorated carinated samian bowl in a red glossy slip, reconstructed from sherds and partly restored. The upper exterior is rouletted above two zones of decoration. The upper zone depicts small birds within festoons divided by panelled saltires infilled with leaf-tips. The base is stamped M]ARINVS[F, the potter Marinus of La Graufesenque
