Green glazed ceramic money box. This money box is round and has a slightly pointed top with a flat base. It has an horizontal slot for coins and its body is stained with a green colour. This money box was found complete. It is unusual to find a pottery money box that isn't broken. This type of money box is the medieval equivalent of a piggy bank and normally they are found broken around the slot where people have tried to get the money out. Perhaps this money box was never used. It was made in the Kingston area.
