Long slender blade of lozange section with traces of wood still in its socket. This long Viking spearhead was found in the Thames at Brentford. It may have been dropped during a battle between the Vikings and the Anglo-Saxons. As the Vikings were sea raiders, coastal and riverside areas were particularly vulnerable to attack.
