Corroded iron spearhead with long, slender point. This spearhead is made of iron and wood, it has a line ornament on the socket and two ornaments on the side. This long Viking spearhead was found in the Thames at Brentford. It may have been dropped during a battle between the Vikings and the Anglo-Saxons. As the Vikings were sea raiders, coastal and riverside areas were particularly vulnerable to attack.
