Marble plaque shaped like a plate bearing the head of John the Baptist. He has a beard and curly hair and his eyes are closed. Half of the plate is missing. This carrara marble was originally painted. It was knocked down from a canopy or altar screen, and thrown into a pit in Shoreditch.
