'Chronicles of England' was compiled by Caxton in 1480, the book gives an account of the history of England from the time that "Albyne with his susters entred into this isle" until the accession of Edward IV. The work was in constant demand and this edition was printed by Wynkyn de Worde, a printer from Alsace, who inherited Caxton's shop in Westminster in 1491.
