Men moving timber at Surrey Docks.
Surrey Docks were situated on the south bank of the river and handled softwoods from Northern Europe.
The docks operated from around 1696 to 1969. Most were filled in and redeveloped for residential housing, and the area is now known as Surrey Quays.
