A view down Kingly Street of the Clachan pub. It is a Victorian pub which has managed to keep some of its original features; in particular its ornate ceiling, rich wood carving, structural ironwork and some pretty tiling in the entrances. A cosy raised seating area at the back of the bar was probably once the landlords parlour. The smart renovated exterior tells us it was built in 1898, and the turret and dome are typical of the period.
The Clachan, formerly known as the Bricklayers, was once owned by Liberty.
