Full image caption

The Victoria Embankment Gardens lie along the Embankment in the centre of London between Waterloo Bridge and Westminster Bridge. They form part of the plans for Embankment drawn up by Joseph Bazalgette in the 19th century. The Embankment Gardens are actually a collection of separate gardens along the Embankment, the ones shown in this picture are next to Embankment Station.
Within the gardens are various statues, grassed areas, benches, ponds, ornamental plantings and seating areas.
