Visitors to the new Queen's Building at Heathrow Airport enjoying the comforts of a BEA Viscount airliner without leaving the ground, c. 1953. The Queens Building, designed by Frederick Gibbard, was opened by Her Majesty in 1953. It was one of Heathrow's oldest and best-loved buildings with a public viewing platform on the roof. It was demolished in September 2009 to make way for the renovation of Terminal 2.
