A view of Clock Tower (more commonly known as Big Ben although this is actually the name of the bell housed within the Clock Tower). The tower was built from the inside out meaning that no scaffolding was necessary outside the building. The foundation stone was laid in September 1843 and the tower was finished in 1859. Westminster bridge is the oldest bridge in central London and was designed by Thomas Page. It opened in 1862 has 7 arches and is 252meters in length and 26 meters wide.
