The Ferrari family of Ludiano, Canton Ticino in Switzerland donated this banner to the museum. A number of Italian speakers migrated to London from Ticino in the Swiss Alps. This painted silk banner was made for the Il Ticino Liberal-Conservative Club in 1886. The club was founded to encourage Ticinese migrants in London to vote Conservative in elections in their homeland. The banner's central panel is decorated with the colours of the Swiss and Ticinese flags.
