A pocket flintlock pistol with burr walnut stock, steel barrel and silver butt cap. The round two stage cannon barrel has a tapering tang with simple double line border engraving. The tumbler is fitted with a square shank which projects through the lock plate into a corresponding hole in the cock, the two being held together on the outside by a decorative screw. The lock plate is inscribed to the left of the mainspring: E Press for Edward Press, Gunmaker. There is a combined steel and pan-cover, and an engraved steel trigger guard with acorn finial. The silver butt guard has foliate engraving.
